Description
Beirut Arab University is looking for a qualified and experienced Physical Therapist to join its Physical Therapy Outpatient Clinic. The Physical Therapy Outpatient Clinic provides comprehensive patient care while supporting academic training and research activities. The position is responsible for providing evidence-based rehabilitation services, supervising and training physical therapy students, coordinating clinical training activities, and supporting the effective operation of the clinic and laboratory. The clinic serves diverse patient populations, including students, staff, and the community, while contributing to research initiatives, interdisciplinary collaboration, regulatory compliance, and health and wellness programs.
Education:
- DPT holder.
- Computer skills (word, excel, power point).
- English language.
- Retain knowledge of basic cardiac life support (BCLS).

- 1 year of experience in the physical therapy practice.

- Assure consent has been obtained from patient/clients for management.
- Read all materials provided relating to the physical therapy program and seeking clarification where necessary.
- Provide mentoring and supervision throughout the clinical experience; with or without direct observation.
- Provide effective and timely feedback regarding student performance.
- Make time available to discuss patient management with student.
- Assure adherence of the student to ethical and legal aspects of practice.
- Demonstrate cultural competence.
- Demonstrate ongoing professional development as an inherent part of the role of the clinical training site instructors.
- Assure the best practice opportunities for the student.
- Extend knowledge and skill in providing student clinical training experiences (including program planning, implementation, and evaluation) through continuing education.
- Submit all forms/evaluations requested by the program according to the Student’s Portfolio.
- Authenticate the daily presence of students on the Training Sheet on the Student’s Portfolio.
- Collaborate with the CTF to fill the Evaluation of Clinical Training form (appendix II) (present in Student’s Portfolio) for each student at both intermediate and final period of clinical training experience.
- Make sure that student accomplishes a detailed case report at the assigned date in the related course specifications and according to the Guidelines of the Case Report Submission originated by the department.
- Request a site visit from the DCT by the CCCT /or CTF /or DCT if the student have difficulties or if he/she demonstrates performance problems.
- Authenticate and sign all relevant parts of the Student’s Portfolio.

- Assure that the clinical practice experiences encompass management of patients/clients with an array of conditions (eg musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiovascular/pulmonary, and integumentary) across the lifespan and the continuum of care.
- Assure that the clinical practice experiences encompass opportunities for involvement in interdisciplinary practice.
- Provide the student with information about the clinical site in preparation for attending the clinical placement.
- Communicate with the student, CI, CTF and DCT in an effective manner.
- Provide clinical training guidelines of the competencies that the physical therapist student is expected to meet during the clinical placement.
- Provide appropriate feedback to the student throughout the clinical placement.
- Communicate the assessment processes required during and at the end of the clinical training experience.
- Distribute all forms and information sent by the DCT to the student, CI, and CTF.
- Collect the Student’s Portfolio at the assigned date in the Course Specifications of the clinical course from students.
- Visit the training site if it is requested by the DCT.
- Authenticate and sign relevant part of the Student’s Portfolio and forwards it to the CTF.
- Responsible of the safety and accreditation requirements in the laboratory and to perform related work as required.
- Supervisory responsibility for overseeing the daily activities.
- Report and coordinates with head of department.
- Assist faculty in academic issues.
- Develop schedules for laboratory services, reviews and makes appropriate changes as needed.
- Monitor laboratory work performance, reviews monthly laboratory actions, establishes lab performance, analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
- Keep informed, evaluates and makes determinations on new laboratory equipment to stay abreast of new technology and trends; assesses and suggests vendors for materials and services used by the laboratory; evaluates various methodologies for use in the laboratory and report findings.
- Direct written and computerized records, reports and correspondence concerning the department; directs the maintenance of records and files. Analyze data and present ideas and information both orally and in writing.
- Document deficiencies, developing plans for improvement and counseling.
- Assure maintenance of all supplies and reports any case of damage or miss use.
- Maintain an archive for all documents, lab activities and students’ evaluations.
- Retain a wide variety of contacts in person, including faculty members, administrators and managers in the different university divisions. Attends meetings and inform meetings
- Gain and maintain the confidence and cooperation of those contacted in the course of work.
- Assure compliance with regulations. Responding to the grievances and being able of quick resolving and acting.
- Be accountable for the operation including responding to emergencies, and attendance at meetings outside of the laboratory and department as needed.
- Work on self-motivation and development by attending educational courses, workshops and researches.
- Support faculty administration in typing letters.
- Control Quiz and midterm exams.
Main duties:
- Patient Care: Assess, treat, and monitor patients while providing education on rehabilitation and prevention.
- Student Training: Supervise and train physical therapy students through clinical rotations and hands-on learning.
- Administration & Outreach: Manage clinic operations, maintain equipment, and promote community health programs.
