Description
Beirut Arab University seeking a dynamic and creative Content Creator with strong video editing capabilities to join our team. This role is responsible for the end-to-end production of engaging multimedia content across various platforms, with a particular emphasis on video. The ideal candidate will be a skilled storyteller who can conceptualize ideas, capture compelling footage, and transform raw material into polished, high-impact videos that resonate with our target audience. This position requires a blend of creative vision, technical proficiency in video editing software, and a keen understanding of current content trends.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Digital Media, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related creative field.
- Relevant certifications in video editing or digital content creation can sometimes substitute for a degree, especially with a strong portfolio.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in content creation, with a significant portion dedicated to video production and editing.
- A strong portfolio showcasing diverse video projects (e.g., promotional videos, social media clips, explainers, interviews, short documentaries) demonstrating creative vision and technical proficiency. This is often the most critical requirement.
- Experience with other content formats (e.g., graphic design, copywriting) is a strong plus.
Skills and knowledge:
- Expert proficiency in industry-standard video editing software: this means Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro or any other editing software.
- Proficiency in motion graphics and visual effects software: Adobe After Effects is usually required.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for creating thumbnails, lower thirds, and other visual assets.
- Basic understanding of audio editing and mixing: For clear voiceovers, sound effects, and music integration.
- Knowledge of camera operation and lighting: Ability to set up and shoot high-quality video footage, even if not the primary duty.
- Proficient in operating professional video cameras and associated equipment: This includes setting up and using various camera types (e.g., DSLRs, mirrorless, camcorders), understanding lenses, lighting techniques, and audio recording devices to capture high-quality footage.
- Understanding of video codecs, formats, and compression techniques for various platforms.
Main duties:
- Conceptualize, Plan, and Produce Diverse Multimedia Content (with a focus on Video): This duty involves actively brainstorming new content ideas and strategies tailored for various platforms (e.g., social media, website, campaigns), with a primary focus on video. It includes scripting, storyboarding, planning shoots, and potentially directing or capturing footage for a wide range of video formats such as short-form clips, explainers, interviews, and promotional videos.
- Execute End-to-End Video Editing and Post-Production: Take raw video footage and transform it into polished, engaging final products. This includes professional video editing (cutting, splicing, transitions), color grading, sound design (mixing, effects, music selection), motion graphics creation, and incorporating visual effects where necessary, ensuring all video content meets high quality standards and brand guidelines.
- Optimize Content for Platform Performance and Audience Engagement: Beyond creation, this duty involves adapting and optimizing content, particularly videos, for specific digital platforms to maximize reach and engagement. This includes writing compelling captions and titles, selecting appropriate thumbnails, understanding platform-specific algorithms, and potentially analyzing performance metrics to refine future content strategies and ensure content effectively resonates with the target audience.
